The Sakura Matsuri festival is a Floral Display Festival of the Japanese culture celebrated in Singapore. It is the largest one-day festival of cherry blossoms in March. The Gardens by the Bay in Singapore display the largest cherry blossom in the city called “Sakura Matsuri Floral Display”. The beginning of the full cherry blossom is difficult to predict but usually starts in the early of March and the best place to experience the bloom is located in the flower Dome. The Flower Dome has more than 20 varieties of cherry trees arranged in a Japanese- Inspired setting with a tea house and rickshaws. There is also Japanese food, games and a cultural program. Every year Picture-perfect flower and anime displayed for a limited period of time.

The well-known cherry blossoms festival Sakura Matsuri is celebrated in remembrance of the great hero Momotaro, The Peach Boy.  Once there were a woodcutter and his wife lived near a village.  They always prayed for a child as they have none. One day the woodcutter fished a large peach stone and when they cut the peach a little baby was inside of it and they named him as Momotaro. The wife gave the baby some milk and, with every drop of milk, he grew bigger and bigger.

One day some giants came sailing down the river and stole food from the villagers and destroyed the farmer’s crops. Then Momotaro decides to take them down.  He set for sail in the giants place. On his way he met a monkey, a dog and a pheasant. The four of them entered the giant’s castle and took them down. They apologized for their mistakes and gave Momotaro all of their treasure. Then he lived happily since after.
